Mah Card – Iranian debit card for tourists in Iran

Mah Card is an Iranian prepaid debit card designed for tourists travelling to Iran. Mah Card is an equivalent of International credit/debit cards (i.e. Visa or MasterCard) which lets you use your money in Iran as opposed to carrying cash around. Since international cards are not operating in Iran, the only way to make purchases is either using cash or Iranian debit cards. Banks and other financial institutes in Iran either don’t issue cards to foreigners or require a big, thick list of documents that tourists normally don’t carry around! Banks also add a very high markup to their exchange rate, which means that you will be paying huge hidden charges. You can see the exchange rates on our website and compare it to the rates banks advertise.

Mah Card is accepted at any POS machines, ATMs, Websites and almost every Iranian sales system.

Once you are registered on our website we will contact you and make an appointment to meet you at your hotel or hostel in Iran. We will then issue your card and top it up with the cash you give us. And that’s it.

Cost is €19 and unlike other providers,  we won’t charge any fees when using your card!

How does it work

Signing up for Mah Card is easy and simple; You register for an account on https://www.mahcard.com, once your profile is completed a Mah Card customer support agent will review your details and prepare your card via our partner bank.

Once your card is ready, we will arrange delivery at your local hostel or hotel in Iran. Our customer support agent will meet you in person at your hotel or hostel and hand in your card. At the same time, you can exchange your cash and transfer it to your card. Our Mah Card representative take your cash and transfer it to Iranian Rials (IRR) instantly and transfer the funds to your card while you’re waiting. The whole process takes less than 2-3 minutes.

You can also top up your card in any local currency exchange shops in Iran. They can deposit money into your Mah Card directly.

Costs

There is only a one time €19 card issuance fee. You will NOT be charged for any transaction or ATM fees when shopping in person or online.

Help and Support

We provide full customer support in case of any issues with your card. You can either use our online user panel to submit any support requests or call us directly. All our customer support agents speak English.
